Team Tiering | Premier Soccer Series

TIERING OVERVIEW

Our events draw teams from different parts of Canada and the USA. Different areas have different definitions for levels of play and have different game formats. This can create confusion for teams looking to register. As a result, we have tried to provide an information sheet to assist clubs with their placement at the time of registration.

These age groups are for our 2027 events and align with Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards.

TIERS

We are simplifying our registration by using tiers 1, 2 and 3. These will take on slightly different meanings depending on the age. Please review your age group carefully to register and place your team correctly.

SMALL SIDED AGE GROUPS

These age groups are considered SMALL SIDED and play on a small sided field.

U10 – 2017 (play 7v7)

We will have ONE tier of Development in this age group.

No scores or standings will be kept in this age group.

U11 - 2016 (play 7v7)

We will offer TWO tiers of play in this age group as follows:

TIER 1 – top level development teams (Div 1)

TIER 2 – lower level development teams and higher level recreational/house teams (Div 2)

U12 – 2015 (play 9v9)

U13 – 2014 (play 9v9)

We will offer TWO tiers of play in these age groups as follows:

TIER 1 – top level development teams (Div 1)

TIER 2 – lower level development teams and higher level recreational/house teams (Div 2)

Scores & Standings will be kept for U12 & U13 levels.

U14 – U18

These age groups all play 11 v 11 and associate to the following birth years.

• U14 – 2013

• U15 – 2012

• U16 – 2011

• U17 – 2010

• U18 – 2009

There are THREE levels of play.

TIER 1 - Premier/Top level of play in your area (in BC this would be BCSPL)

TIER 2 – 2nd level of play (In BC this is A Cup/Div 1)

TIER 3 – 3rd level of play (In BC this is B Cup)

SHOWCASE - offers Tier 1 & 2

SPRING CUP - offers Tier 1 at U14 and Tier 2 & 3 at all ages.

CANADA DAY | INTERNATIONAL CUP | THANKSGIVING - offer Tier 1, 2 & 3

CONCLUSION

Please ensure the placement of your team is accurate at the time of registration. If you are unsure, please email us to assist.

The tournament will not be responsible if you register in the wrong age and/or level. We cannot promise that we can move your team later, if you register incorrectly.
